Once on a pirate ship there was
a captain pirate parrot.
“Squawk, squawk!
I’m in charge!
I am a pirate parrot!”
And on that pirate ship there were
two pirate parrots.
“Squawk, squawk!”
“I’m in charge!”
“I steer the ship.”
“We are the pirate parrots!”
And on that pirate ship there were
three pirate parrots.
“Squawk, squawk!”
“I’m in charge!”
“I steer the ship.”
“I hoist the sail.”
“We are the pirate parrots!”
And on that pirate ship there were
four pirate parrots.
“Squawk, squawk!”
“I’m in charge!”
“I steer the ship.”
“I hoist the sail.”
“I tie the rope.”
“We are the pirate parrots!”
And on that pirate ship there were
five pirate parrots.
“Squawk, squawk!”
“I’m in charge!”
“I steer the ship.”
“I hoist the sail.”
“I tie the rope.”
“I swab the deck.”
“We are the pirate parrots!”
And they sailed away
through the whooshy sea
to fight and rob
whoever they see.
“Aha! Ahoy!
What do I spy,”
the captain squawked,
“with my beady eye?”
A great blue whale
singing in the sea
was swishing and fishing –
when who did she see?
“Squawk, squawk!
We are the pirate parrots!
Give us silver –
or have a fright!
Give us gold –
or have a fight!”
“Ugh?” said the whale.
“I’ve a stinky spout.
No silver or gold!”
And she spurt it out –
shoooosh! –
all over the ship!
“Eeergh!”
squawked the parrots –
as smelly as can be!
And they sailed away
through the whooshy sea.
“Aha! Ahoy!
What do I spy,”
the captain squawked,
“with my beady eye?”
A slinky squid
squirming in the sea
was twirling and whirling –
when who did he see?
“Squawk, squawk!
We are the pirate parrots!
Give us silver –
or have a fright!
Give us gold –
or have a fight!”
“Ugh?” said the squid.
“Now let me think.
No silver or gold.”
But he squirted black ink –
swoooosh! –
all over the ship!
“Eeergh!”
squawked the parrots –
as drippy as can be!
And they sailed away
through the whooshy sea.
“Aha! Ahoy!
What do I spy,”
the captain squawked,
“with my beady eye?”
Some bright beaky puffins
bobbing in the sea
were paddling and dabbling –
when who did they see?
“Squawk, squawk!
We are the pirate parrots!
Give us silver –
or have a fright!
Give us gold –
or have a fight!”
“Ugh?” said the puffins.
“We’ve got fishy poo!
No silver or gold.”
And they sneezed splurgy stew –
Sploooge! –
all over the ship!
“Eeergh!”
squawked the parrots –
as squelchy as can be!
And they sailed away
through the whooshy sea.
“Aha! Ahoy!
What do I spy,”
the captain squawked,
“with my beady eye?”
A sharp-toothed shark
skulking in the sea
was crunching and scrunching –
when who did he see?
“Squawk, squawk!
We are the pirate parrots!
Give us silver –
or have a fright!
Give us gold –
or have a fight!”
“Ugh?” snarled the shark.
“I’ll give you a fright!
No silver or gold!
I’ll give you a fight!”
And he chased the ship
and the parrot crew –
who scrabbled and squawked! –
Didn’t know what to do!
Then shark chomped beneath –
Crrrunch! –
with his shiny sharp teeth!
And the ship –
Glug! Glug!
Glug!
Glug!
“Arrrgh!”
squawked the parrots
as they flapped away.
“We’ll steal another ship
and rob another day!
Squawk, squawk!
We are the pirate parrots!”
